‘Mae’ the Basking Shark’s Tag in Irish Port

Last week, the tag belonging to 'Mae', a beautiful 7.5m long female basking shark we tagged this July signalled from the Celtic Deep, a known over-wintering basking shark hot-spot. Now her tag is signalling from Greencastle, a fishing port next to Lough Foyle, Co Donegal, Ireland. We hope that Mae is OK and that her tag has just been picked up by a fisherman. There is a £50 reward for return of the tag. We would dearly love to know what has happened to Mae.
