Celtic Scuff, is proving to be a very interesting basking shark to have tagged. We tagged him off the Isle of Man on 7th August and he spent a month feeding close inshore off the NW coast of the Isle of Man. This was a very interesting finding as we didn’t realise that this was such an important feeding area. Then we didn’t hear from him for a while, then he popped up in the Bristol Channel on 17th September 2 weeks after he left Manx water. Having satellite-tagged 29 basking shark in Manx waters we know to expect basking them to stay under all winter so we are delighted when one pops up to tell us where it is, and, surprise surprise his tag is signalling that he’s in the Bristol Channel again! VERY interesting!
