Shark Details
We spotted this 5m long shark well off Peel. She was apparently by herself feeding calmly. I say she because of her behaviour when we approached her to take a skin swab for DNA analysis at Aberdeen University. 'She' repeatedly turned away from the boat, a behaviour we find typical of female basking sharks. We called her
Environment Details
Not much zooplankton to see with the naked eye but the shark was feeding happily. Sea state zero and no wind, sunny and lovely!
