Shark Details
4m shark was close in by the rocks feeding back and forth through the same area by the mine workings. Two other sharks at about 6 +m length were doing the same at about 100 m from the rocks at the same location. Another shark was seen at Bradda head, 6m, and yet another shark with a very large dorsal fin was seen on the surface for about 10 seconds off in the distance South of Port Erin bay towards the Calf.
Environment Details
Very strong, warm, off shore wind and mist pouring down the cliffs making the sea quite choppy. Visibility in the water was very poor due to a lot of plankton. A lot of sea goose berries seen in the shelter of a small gully. Quite a few barrel jellyfish seen too. I was in a kayak.
One of the 6+m sharks in front of the mine workings had a v notch in the trailing edge of the dorsal fin, just like the photo on the web page. The tip of this sharks tail fin also had an old injury as the tip was more like a club. I have some video of 3 sharks and will try to get some stills from it to send for your records.
